Liezen to Admont: Put-ins, take-outs and highlights
On this section an open and once again very straight stretch of river is sure to win you over completely. Most eddies are visible from a long way off and will not cause any surprises. You paddle under the two large bridges of the B320 and the A9 through the Enns valley, past Selzthal towards Frauenberg, where you eventually reach the Zwirtnersee. Now the bankside vegetation becomes denser again and nature wilder. The mouth of the Paltenbach will surely be crowned the undisputed number one among the scenic highlights of this stage. It is a well-known natural place of power that invites you to linger and chill out.
In terms of paddling, though, the Palten confluence also deserves your attention, as the course of the river constantly changes there and is somewhat unpredictable. Under normal conditions, however, you can pass through in the main current without difficulty. Once you have left this section of the Enns behind, you reach your next destination: the Glasbachweg bridge near Frauenberg. Here you can shorten this stage or finish your river trip.
But you certainly won’t regret carrying on, because now the exceptionally impressive mountain scenery of the Gesäuse National Park opens up before you. It offers uniquely beautiful impressions that you will remember fondly. You have this panorama as your companion for a full 6 km until you reach the take-out in Admont. To use it safely, pass under the bridge in Admont and paddle on to the mouth of the Eßlingbach.
